Oversee SDSL connection to Internet and administer network equipment and servers. Network administration of Cisco 2501 and Cisco 3620 routers and Cisco 1924 switch. Modify access-lists on routers as required. Administer primary domain name servers (DNS) servers for host domain and customer virtual domains. Administer secondary DNS servers. Configure and manage Sendmail mail server. Configure and manage Apache web servers and Red Hat Secure web server. Perform server backups and operating system upgrades as required. Monitor activity on servers for intruders as well as solving software and hardware problems. Load patches to operating systems and other applications as required. Create and administer web pages for customers. Develop, or contract out and maintain perl, C and shell CGI scripts for form based processing. Develop and administer E-commerce web sites for customers. Developing java servlets to access Oracle database. Designed four building network utilizing wireless WAN equipment and VLAN technology. Defined VLAN setup and router interfaces to limit traffic into individual offices in the four building network. Defined the use of microwave connection between buildings to reduce long term costs. Assist small businesses in setting up secure business networks using Linux firewall servers.

Helped define the switching and router system for the office and the new Co-location facility   Helped solve network problems as they occurred: errors in switch port settings, improved performance by moving from hubs to switches, using network tools to identify causes of slowness for customers. Helped solve mail problem which was attributed to mail server not alloying mail to be relayed.  Helped setup and modify DNS server settings.  Acted as backup system administrator for Linux servers.

Acted as backup System admin to Sun Servers. Solved network problems as they arose: user loaded their own IP addresses causing the server with the IP to become dis-functional. Developed and administered Sun/Apache research web server. Designed concept for new web based, stateful, application server using java applets and CORBA-IDL to interface with current and future CORBA-IDL knowledge based objects. Designed concept for converting existing Sun file server to an Oracle database server with web based access. Wrote system level scripts for tracking and performance measurement.
